Sujet du message:  cc90 - BMP to MAP

I have been trying to use cc90 to convert a 300x200 4 colours bmp file to MAP. The file is 4bpp, I think I need a 2bpp bmp, but I have been traying several tools(gimp, imagemagick, grafx2) and searching on google on how to get a 2bpp bmp without luck...

Can someone help me on this?, it would be appreciated.

No, a 4bpp should be okay. But with a palette of 4 colours, which means that you have to reduce the number of colours to 4.

Thanks prehisto, but I already have 4 colours, I did get a MAP file but when I tried to see it with xnview and Sam's plugin it just shows a black 320x200 screen...

Might it be a bug in the plugin? I haven't tested it with gfx produced by cc90.

Samuel is right. Do you try to display it on an emulator with a simple LOADP ? If it works on an emulator (or a real computer), no need to change anything in my mixture...

I have tried with LOADP and it shows a black screen too. :L

Send it to me, then.

Or at least, check if there are some 'non-black' datas in the MAP with an hexadecimal editor.

PS : are you sure that the BMP is exactly 320x200 ? Sometimes, a range of pixels more makes the difference...

Finally it worked!

I loaded the bmp file in irfanview and then I saw that the resultion was 72x72 and I put it to 0x0 then saved the file and it worked.

This is strange as I created the files on gimp with dpi 0x0 but then when saved they all are 72x72...

:D

Still not all is well....

I can convert a 320x200 16 colours bmp file to 40 columns mode

and also a 160x200x16 bmp to mode 160x200 16 colours

but when I try to convert a 320x200 bmp to 4 colours mode I always get a 40 columns mode map file.

my bmp file is 320x200, 4bpp, 4 colours....
